The Amy Lane Mysteries – publisher closed

I am sad to announce that Crime Scene Books, the small press publisher of The Amy Lane Mysteries, has ceased publication. While all series rights have been reverted to me, I'm not yet sure what the books' future will be. I am sorry not to have more clarity for my readers at this time. As the series' future is uncertain, I will be pursuing other projects. I hope to return to Amy and Jason in the future and finish their story. ...

Happy rebirthday to BINARY WITNESS and CODE RUNNER!

It's launch day! Today, we are welcoming the brand new editions of Binary Witness and Code Runner to the world. Available in paperback for the first time - and with a new ebook too - Crime Scene Books have given these books a new lease of life. A young woman trapped by her fear. A serial killer on the prowl. A woman locked in a darkened flat. An ex-con hiding from a vengeful gang. As clubbers in Cardiff are targeted by a brutal murderer, the police turn to unconventional means to catch the killer. Terror 404 release date

Terror 404 release date

Thank you for your patience in waiting for updates on The Amy Lane Mysteries. We can now confirm that Terror 404 will be released on 6th April 2017. We also have some very exciting news about the series that isn't quite ready to share yet, but we will keep you all posted in the build-up to the release of Terror 404. What's Rosie doing? Since the release of Captcha Thief in February, Rosie has been working on the edits for Terror 404 and the first draft of a fifth Amy Lane novel. She also moved house and gained a long commute to her day job, so her time for writing, social media and blog updates has become very limited. Her schedule is about to become even more interesting, as she's expecting her first child in January 2017!...

Binary Witness Excerpt #12 – Cathays Bridge

Last in this photo-excerpt series for Binary Witness. You can find the collected pictures on Pinterest,Facebook and Tumblr. As she passed under the bridge, a shiver went down her spine, the feeling of being watched settling between her shoulder blades. Gina looked around—nothing. The whole road was deserted, and she shook her head and walked on. This stupid serial killer was making her jumpy. Like what you see? Read the book! Binary Witness Excerpt #11 – Behind Cardiff Central

“Do you have eyes on him?” His earpiece crackled to life with Bryn’s voice, and Jason tried to answer between aching breaths. “He’s heading…out for…Penarth Road!” The car park was badly lit, open ground on Sunday night, but the man was damn fast. Jason tore after him, pumping his arms despite the screeching pain above his right elbow. “Cars are right behind you,” Bryn said in his ear and Jason could hear the sirens. He didn’t have time to look back, as they ran out of the car park. Like what you see? Read the book! Binary Witness Excerpt #10 – St Mary’s Street

Somehow she kept her feet and staggered down St. Mary’s Street, the heart of Cardiff’s nightlife, looking for something to soak up the alcohol sloshing in her stomach. Dark deserted shops stood flush against the glare of clubs and bars, boys out front for a fag catcalling as she passed and the street awash with debris from McDonald’s. Like what you see? Binary Witness Excerpt #9: The Blue Door

With a deep breath, Jason got out the car and started down the street. Number 22 with the blue door—but the door was open and there were a pile of boxes and carrier bags on the pavement. A couple of lads were sitting on the wall outside with beer in hand, as a knockout brunette in a T-shirt dress and leggings stumbled out with her arms full of kitchenware. “Little help, guys?” Like what you see? Binary Witness Excerpt #8: Tyndall Street

She thought she could see a couple of hotels in the distance. She’d ask them for directions, or maybe they’d call her a taxi. Few men could resist a girl shivering in their lobby, even if she looked like she was more water than woman. “A moisten bint.” But, as luck would have it, she heard a car come up behind her. She turned to stare into the headlights and stuck her arm out, waving frantically to flag down the longed-for taxi and trying not to totter backwards in her six-inchers. Photography by Amy Davies. Binary Witness Excerpt #7: Millennium Stadium

After a Sunday rest, I'm back with more beautiful shots of Cardiff to go with brief sketches of the city from my novel Binary Witness. From under the shadow of the Millennium Stadium, he emerged opposite the walled-in greenery of Bute Park before continuing on across the river and into Canton. Here, the pound shops rubbed shoulders with bohemian cafés and Indian restaurants, and Jason caught a whiff of marijuana floating alongside the strong smell of curry. Photography by Amy Davies. Binary Witness Excerpt #6: Aneurin Bevan

Melody’s route followed the walls of the castle, past the statue of the intense Aneurin Bevan and down St. Mary’s Street. She was practically alone on the street, too late for latecomers and too early for closing. She was wrapped tight against the wind and rain, swaying like a willow tree. She carried herself with a relaxed, confident air, ironic for her gallows walk. Photography by Amy Davies. Like what you see? Read the book!
